Yamuna Institute of Dental Sciences and Research successfully organised a “Best Out of Waste” competition on the occasion of World Oral Health Month, 2023. The competition aimed to promote the importance of oral health and sustainability by encouraging participants to create unique and innovative items from waste materials.
The competition received an overwhelming response from the participants, who created amazing and innovative designs from the waste materials. The entries were judged by three eminent personalities of the institute, Dr. Ruchi Bindal, Oral Radiologist, Dr. Amit Bali, Oral surgeon and Dr. Sunil Shekhar, Microbiologist.
The judges were highly impressed by the creativity, originality and functionality of the entries. They also appreciated the use of waste materials and the message of sustainability conveyed through the designs. The judges had a tough time selecting the winners but after careful consideration the following entries were declared as the winners :
First place : Team 5 ( Diksha, Jagriti, John and Kimmi ) from BDS 4th year
Second place : Team 4 (Madhu, Shreya, Vibhi and Akanksha) from BDS 4th year
Third place : Team 1 ( Daksh, Rashika Tanu Solanki and Preeti ) from BDS 2nd year.
The winners will be felicitated on the last day of the occasion. The judges also shared valuable insights and tips with the participants regarding oral health and sustainability.
