Yamuna Institute of Dental Sciences and Research (YIDSR) has been set up by Ch. Lekh Raj Educational & Charitable Trust as a part of prestigious Yamuna Group of Institutions, which has world-class infrastructure and faculty essential for dental education. The special focus of YIDSR is to promote quality education, ethical research and selfless service. Starting with academic session 2012-13, with permission from the Govt. of India, Govt. of Haryana and affiliation with the Pt. B. D. Sharma University of Health Science, Rohtak and recognized in 2016 by Dental Council of India (DCI), YIDSR had admitted 100 students, which is 100% of its approved intake, in the very first session of the institute.

Central Dental OPD and Non-Clinical Laboratories. A well-equipped Central Dental OPD with ultra-modern, state-of-the-art equipment is fully functional. More than 150 patients are being examined and treated daily for various dental diseases. Oral Medicine and Radiology
Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology
The Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology department is a portal for all dental patients coming to YIDSR. It is situated in the OPD Block, which has a fully functional clinical block and radiology section. The department has a new patient inflow of 150 per day on average and 100 patients per day to oral radiology. Being a vital department Oral Medicine & Radiology plays three important functions and responsibilities of managing the initial diagnosis, treatment planning and the imaging modality needs. It deals with the diagnosis and medical management of orofacial diseases with their oral manifestations, potentially malignant disorders, ulcerative, vesiculobullous oral lesions, autoimmune mucocutaneous disorders, salivary gland pathologies, oral infections like tuberculosis and candidiasis, Temporomandibular joint disorders, facial neuralgias, and myofascial pains and management of medically compromised patients.
SERVICES OFFERED
a) Diagnosis and management of complex diagnostic and medical disorders affecting the mouth and the jaws.
b) Oral cancer diagnosis and management.
c) Oral pre-cancer detection and treatment.
d) Diagnosis and management of Oral Mucosal diseases.

I) Radiological investigations are carried out as a routine in the department in the interest of patient care.
UG CLINIC
The clinical block has an undergraduate section, where the students examine the patients. The clinical section is spacious and equipped with all ultra modern automatic dental chairs & advanced diagnostic instruments. All the operatory chairs have intraoral cameras which provide a better treatment plan. With the expertise of the faculty members students are trained in professional case history recording, formulation of prompt diagnosis and planning management of dental and oral diseases. Various hands-on demos are given regarding chair chair-sided investigations like aspiration, making histological smears, recognizing cases of potential malignancy performing various biopsies etc.
SEMINAR ROOM
The seminar room is equipped with all the modern types of equipment like a projector, and screen. Deliberating sessions involving both aspects i.e. from basics to clinical are held for the students in the seminar room.
RADIOLOGY SECTION
The Department of Radiology goes hand in hand with Oral Medicine providing facilities for all dental radiographic investigations to patients.
- Intra-oral imaging – IOPAR, Bitewing radiography, Occlusal radiography.
- Extra-oral Radiography – OPG & other skull views (PA, Water’s view, Submentovertex view, Caldwell View, Jug handle view, Cephalometry).

Technically well-qualified Radiographers and Dark Room Assistants ensure that high-quality radiographs are made with the least exposure possible. Rapid deliveries of radiographs are ensured by digital printouts of the radiographs and a fully automatic daylight processor. The department is also associated with Ch. Lekh Raj Multispecialty Hospital for Ultrasonography & CT Scan.
Department of Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge
Prosthodontics is “the dental specialty about the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation, and maintenance of oral function, comfort, appearance, and health of patients with clinical conditions associated with missing or deficient teeth and/or oral and maxillofacial tissues using biocompatible substitutes.” It can also be defined as, the branch of dentistry that deals with the replacement of missing teeth and the associated soft and hard tissues by prostheses (complete denture, Removable partial denture, crown &bridge) which may be fixed or removable or may be supported and retained by implants.
A prosthodontist is a specialist dentist who deals with the replacement of missing teeth and related mouth and jaw structures by bridges, dentures, and prostheses. They receive additional training for three years after their B.D.S. to specialize in this field.
Another important aspect of prosthodontics is Maxillofacial prosthetics, which is a highly specialized branch dealing with the rehabilitation of patients with congenital and acquired defects. This speciality also contributes significantly towards the management of Temporomandibular disorders.

Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
It is the specialty of dentistry which includes the diagnosis, surgical and adjunctive treatment of diseases, injuries and defects involving both the functional and aesthetic aspects of the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial region.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The oral maxillofacial surgery department is equipped with all the latest instruments and equipment. In the dept. all types of treatments including simple to complicated surgical extractions, maxillofacial trauma management, head and neck tumour surgeries, cysts management &, implants etc. are done. The dept. has one minor operation theatre for minor surgical procedures. Dept. also has an operation theatre for major surgeries under general anesthesia in a medical hospital.
ACADEMICS
The department is taking all the theory classes over PowerPoint with interactive sessions. Regular tests, projects, and work on study models help the students to better understand the subject. The department has sufficient numbers of patients for students. Students learn all their patient work under the guidance of consultants.
Department of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics
Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry which includes the study and supervision of skeletal and dental growth; and treatment of all kinds of malocclusions. Broadly, all the procedures are classified into preventive, interceptive and corrective orthodontics which aid in the establishment of proper occlusion, function and aesthetics. Ever since its origin, the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics has been rising towards progress in all dimensions in a very streamlined manner. The department consists best class infrastructure which is divided into the following wings:- A fully equipped (air-conditioned) Seminar room with LCD projector Clinical photography room A clinical laboratory Patient record section maintaining records of all new and old patients Computer work station A departmental library equipped with all kinds of books and journals An efficient sterilization corner/unit for infection control A store supplying all orthodontic materials A well-maintained reception area. Today, the department provides quality patient care with all kinds of conventional and latest treatment modalities like myofunctional appliances, fixed orthodontics including labial and lingual appliances, use of metallic , ceramic and self-ligating brackets, temporary anchorage devices, straight wire appliance along with its modifications, orthognathic surgical cases and treating cleft cases. The department is equipped with Nemoceph software for diagnosis and treatment planning, hydrosolder, digital radiographic machine.
Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry
Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry
Welcome to the Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Yamuna Institute of Dental Sciences and Research, Yamunanagar. We aim to impart quality education in the field of Paediatric Dentistry at the undergraduate level and provide oro-dental care to all children. Our mission is to provide primary and comprehensive, preventive, and therapeutic oral health care for infants, children, and adolescents, including those with special health care needs.
The department came into existence in the year 2013 and since then it’s striving hard to teach dental students the fundamentals of oral health care for children. The curriculum is designed to encompass the theory and practice of pediatric dentistry. Community outreach events are also conducted which bring together faculty, staff, and students to provide valuable dental care to the children of our region.
On average, daily 30 patients are treated in the department using an array of special treatment procedures by employing a lot of innovative ideas and techniques. We provide holistic oro-dental care to children using modern technologies & equipment. To name a few: Digital radiography, Intraoral camera, Rotary endodontics, Myofunctional & Semi fixed orthodontics therapy.
Department of Periodontology and Oral Implantology
The Department of Periodontology and Oral Implantology has a spacious undergraduate section. This makes it possible to work more efficiently and also treat more no. of patients at one time. The goal of the Department is, to pass on knowledge and skills beyond the examination system which will result in imparting education to the masses and bringing social change, to help humanity wherein the downtrodden, people of low socio-economic status and the underprivileged are considered. The dept. has well qualified experienced and dedicated faculty members with vast knowledge of the subject
The department is fully equipped with the latest surgical equipment as well as diagnostic facilities which help in rendering accurate diagnosis and the subsequent correct treatment to the patients. The department is well equipped with 34 dental chairs and modern dental equipment like ultrasonic scalers, electro-cautery, light cure units, also bone grafting materials and GTR.

Public & Community Dentistry
Department of Public & Community Dentistry
The Department of Public Health Dentistry is committed to training undergraduate students in the field of public health dentistry. Its focus extends to collaborative efforts within interdisciplinary teams, conducting investigations on risk factors for oral diseases, their connection to systemic diseases, and employing oral epidemiological methods to analyze health outcomes related to dental services and oral health policy. The curriculum includes instruction in preventive dentistry, exploring the relationship between oral diseases and overall health and quality of life, dental epidemiology, dental care policy, and the planning of oral health programs.

Facilities Available:
The department is equipped with a mobile dental unit featuring two dental chairs, specialized equipment, and emergency materials. Additionally, it is equipped with audio-visual tools to educate and motivate populations.
Activities:
Regular dental camps are organized in and around Haryana, as well as in remote areas of the state where dental facilities are scarce. These camps extend to locations such as central jails, orphanages, and schools for special children. The department provides comprehensive dental treatment to patients referred from these camps in its outpatient department (O.P.D.).
Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics
Conservative dentistry and endodontics are regarded as elite fields of dentistry that need a high level of precision, competence, and rational thinking. In the past, it was a normal procedure to extract teeth that had been damaged by trauma, caries, or infection without much thought. However, the present technique seeks minimum tissue invasion, with a focus on preserving natural tooth structure while addressing underlying disease processes.
Subspecialties including endodontic, cariology, operative dentistry, and cosmetic dentistry are all included in conservative dentistry. The department is well-equipped with cutting-edge dental chairs and UG clinics, and it concentrates on the conservation and maintenance of teeth. It also has a radiography section, a departmental library, a plaster lab, a centralized casting facility for metal and ceramic work, a pre-clinical laboratory with phantom heads, and a seminar room with audio-visual aids. The department gives continuous education a high emphasis, and teaching staff and students frequently attend conferences and workshops. The course comprises high-quality didactic, practical, and clinical components that are taught to stress learning from pertinent clinical literature and adopting a scientific approach to problem-solving. The course can be taken as a first step toward an academic career or as a basis for effective clinical practice.
Department of Oral Pathology and Oral Microbiology
The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Microbiology at YIDSR is highly efficient in the early screening and diagnosis of diseases in the head and neck area. It also forms a supportive backbone to many other departments by providing much-needed information regarding the oral health of the patients.
The department is one of the best equipped & also well-staffed to provide the best academic training to the students. The teaching faculty are enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and committed to teaching excellence. The department ensures a multifaceted approach for a better understanding of the students by involving them in a variety of classes and didactic lectures, discussions, conferences, seminars along clinical postings.
Located on the first floor of the college building, the department has a well-dedicated and planned space for the student laboratory, audio-visually aided demonstration room, museum, cytopathology, and histopathology laboratory, separate clinics, and the HOD and staff rooms for effective and efficient work management.
The Department supports research work and constant growth by performing and assigning various scientific projects, short studies, and case discussions to the students to enhance their presentation skills in various International, National, and State conferences.
INFRASTRUCTURE
The institute has excellent infrastructure with more than 200 dental chairs and latest state of art dental equipment. All the latest dental materials for the clinical procedures are available for undergraduate training program. Air-conditioned lecture halls with latest audio-visual aids, phantom head labs for pre-clinical and seminars/ CDE room are some of the facilities available in the institute. The central library of the institute has a great collection of textbooks/ reference books, Indian and International journals and demonstrative atlas volume.
ABOUT PROGRAM
Bachelor of dental surgery (BDS) degree is a five years course including 1 year of compulsory rotatory internship. This is as per the regulations of Dental council of India.
ADMISSION CRITERIA
- Admission shall be made strictly on the basis of merit in NEET 2024.
- To be followed as per guidelines issued by Govt. of India/D.C.I./Govt. of Haryana/Pt. B. D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak.
ELIGIBILITY
- The candidate must have passed the senior school certificate examination (10+2) of Board of School Education, Haryana or an examination recognized as equivalent to this with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) taken together.
- The candidate must have passed (10+2) examination with English as an independent subject.
- He/She must have attained the age of 17 years for admission to BDS course on or before 31st December, of respective academic year.
FEE STRUCTURE
As decided by the State Fee & Admission Committee as per guidelines from the Dental Council of India from time to time. For the students to be admitted in the academic session 2024-2025, the fee structure is as follows;
- ₹ 2,80,000/- (Tuition Fee) per annum for four years and ₹ 21,500/- (University Charges).

- Hostel charges Single seater – (Non AC – ₹ 125000/-) (AC – ₹ 150000/-)
- Hostel charges Double seater – (Non AC – ₹ 100000/-) (AC – ₹ 125000/-)
